Abstract
La invención se refiere a esterquats que se pueden obtener haciendo reaccionar di- o trialcanolaminas con una mezcla de ácidos grasos y ácidos policarboxílicos, y los ésteres obtenidos de esta manera se cuaternizan con un agente alquilante, en donde las di o trialcanolaminas corresponden a la fórmula (I),(VER FORMULA) en donde R1 y R2 independientemente uno del otro representan grupos hidroxialquilo con 1 a 20 átomos de carbono, grupos hidroxialquenilo con 2 a 20 átomos de carbono y 1, 2 o 3 dobles enlaces, o productos de adición de 1 a 20 moles de óxido de etileno en un grupo hidroxietilo y R3 representa hidrógeno, un grupo alquilo con 1 a 20 átomos de carbono, un grupo alquenilo con 2 a 20 átomos de carbono y 1, 2 o 3 dobles enlaces, un grupo hidroxialquilo con 1 a 20 átomos de carbono, un hidroxialquenilo grupo con 2 a 20 átomos de carbono y 1, 2 o 3 dobles enlaces, o productos de adición de 1 a 20 moles de óxido de etileno en un grupo hidroxietilo; los ácidos grasos corresponden a la fórmula (II),(VER FORMULA) en donde R4 representa un grupo hidrocarburo alifático, lineal o ramificado con 5 a 29 átomos de carbono y 0, 1, 2 o 3 dobles enlaces; y los ácidos policarboxílicos corresponden a la fórmula (III),(VER FORMULA) en donde Y representa un átomo de carbono o un grupo hidrocarbonado alifático saturado o insaturado con 2 a 5 átomos de carbono, dicho grupo opcionalmente tiene uno o más grupos hidroxilo, y X representa hidrógeno o un grupo hidroxi o ácido carboxílico. La invención también se refiere al uso de dichos esterquats como colectores para la flotación de minerales no sulfídicos.
