Abstract
Se describe un sistema de seguridad para el mantenimiento a prueba de fallas de las áreas dentro de una instalación para el procesamiento de pedidos. Durante la operación normal, varios robots alimentados por baterías reciben instrucciones inalámbricas de un sistema de control de la gestión (MCS) para transferir artículos a/desde estaciones de trabajo o anaqueles de almacenamiento en una estructura de almacenamiento de múltiples niveles. La instalación para el procesamiento de pedidos puede dividirse en zonas de mantenimiento configurables de manera dinámica. Cuando se requiere mantenimiento en una zona de mantenimiento, pueden emplearse diferentes protocolos de seguridad, basándose en una determinación del nivel de prioridad del mantenimiento requerido y/o el tiempo estimado que tomará el mantenimiento. Un protocolo de seguridad involucra bloquear físicamente todos los puntos de acceso a un área de mantenimiento con protecciones mecánicas, de manera que las operaciones de procesamiento de pedidos pueden proceder alrededor de la zona de mantenimiento mientras que se realiza el mantenimiento.
