Un lente oftalmico que comprende una matriz polimerica transparente y nanoparticulas de nucleo-cubierta que estan dispersadas en la matriz polimerica transparente, donde el nucleo de las nanoparticulas de nucleo-cubierta es el resultado de la polimerizacion de una composicion que comprende precursores del nucleo de las nanoparticulas y al menos un compuesto fotocromico, y la cubierta de las nanoparticulas de nucleo-cubierta comprende un compuesto mineral.
