Abstract
Un instrumento o dispositivo médico, tal como un catéter, tiene propiedades ecogénicas, además de, o como una alternativa a, propiedades radiopacas, para facilitar la detección del instrumento o dispositivo médico durante los procedimientos médicos usando métodos adecuados de imagenología, tal como métodos de imagenología por ultrasonido y/o imagenología por rayos X. En modalidades de ejemplo, un catéter de ejemplo tiene una radiopacidad y ecogenicidad relativamente incrementadas para facilitar a un médico la detección del catéter con métodos de imagenología por ultrasonido y/o imagenología por rayos X para ayudar al médico con la inserción, colocación y/o mantenimiento del catéter, a manera de ejemplo.
