Abstract

Se presenta un dispositivo óptico (201) para modificar un patrón de distribución de luz de una fuente de luz (202). La fuente de luz radia primeros haces de luz hacia un primer cuarto de espacio geométrico y segundos haces de luz hacia un segundo cuarto de espacio geométrico, donde el primer y segundo cuartos de espacio son definidos por planos geométricos mutuamente perpendiculares uno de los cuales constituye un límite entre el primer y segundo cuartos de espacio geométrico. El dispositivo óptico comprende una sección de lente (207) para modificar un patrón de distribución de luz del primer haz de luz y dos superficies reflectoras (208, 211) para reflejar los segundos haces de luz desde el segundo cuarto de espacio geométrico hacia el primer cuarto de espacio geométrico. Las dos superficies reflectoras se encuentran sucesivamente en una dirección (x) perpendicular al límite entre el primer y segundo cuartos de espacio geométricos y hacen posible que el dispositivo óptico pueda ser más bajo que en un caso donde únicamente se usa una superficie de reflector.
