Abstract

La presente invención proporciona un método para suministrar los requisitos de nitrógeno de una planta que comprende administrar a esta planta una combinación de bacterias no patógenas fijadoras de nitrógeno atmosférico y uno o más agentes de activación. Muchos de estos agentes de activación poseen una potente actividad antiinflamatoria y antimicrobiana. El método es en particular adecuado para el uso en permitir la fijación de nitrógeno en especies vegetales tal como trigo, maíz y otros cultivos de cereales, en los que normalmente no es posible la fijación de nitrógeno. La invención también proporciona composiciones que comprenden bacterias fijadoras de nitrógeno y agentes de activación adecuados. En una modalidad preferida, las bacterias fijadoras de nitrógeno son del género Rhizobium.
