Abstract

Los métodos, sistemas y kits con reactivos para evaluar la genotoxicidad se describen en la presente descripción. La genotoxicidad y sus mecanismos de acción pueden determinarse a los pocos días de la exposición del sujeto. Algunas modalidades de la tecnología están dirigidas a utilizar la Secuenciación Dúplex para evaluar un potencial genotóxico de un compuesto (por ejemplo, un compuesto químico) en un sujeto expuesto. Otras modalidades de la tecnología están dirigidas a utilizar la Secuenciación Dúplex para determinar una firma mutacional asociada con un agente genotóxico; y/o un nivel umbral seguro de exposición a genotoxinas. Las modalidades adicionales de la tecnología están dirigidas a identificar uno o más agentes genotóxicos a los que un sujeto puede haberse expuesto mediante la comparación del espectro de mutación del ADN del sujeto con el espectro de mutación de compuestos mutagénicos conocidos. Una vez que se identifica o confirma una exposición a genotoxina en un sujeto, después se proporciona un curso terapéutico de tratamiento profiláctico y/o inhibitorio.
