Abstract
Se proporciona un método para oxidar selectivamente uno o más metales objetivos, en una aleación que comprende metales objetivos y no objetivos. El método comprende las etapas de: i) fundir la aleación y exponer la aleación fundida a fragmentación y oxidación simultáneas, en presencia de un gas atomizador oxigenado, bajo condiciones suficientes para producir un potencial de oxidación que oxida uno o más metales objetivos en la aleación, y no oxida los metales no objetivo y ii) dejar solidificar la aleación tratada. El método es útil, para purificar un metal base no objetivo. El método también es útil, para producir un compuesto metálico, que comprende un contenido deseado de uno o más metales objetivos oxidados, por encima del máximo teórico que se consigue, generalmente, para aplicaciones de recubrimiento de superficies por pulverización térmica de plasma.
