Abstract

Medios de grabación térmica directa están diseñados para operar con base en un cambio de estado térmicamente inducido en lugar de una reacción química térmicamente inducida entre un tinte leuco y un desarrollador ácido; los medios utilizan dos tipos de partículas de dispersión sólidas, uno de los cuales cambia su estado de sólido a líquido durante la impresión, y el otro de los cuales no lo hace; las primeras partículas, al momento de fundirse, llenan los espacios entre las últimas partículas, eliminando o sustancialmente reduciendo así la dispersión de luz, lo cual hace que un colorante subyacente sea visible en ubicaciones de impresión seleccionadas donde se aplica calor localmente; los medios pueden proporcionar imágenes térmicamente producidas de alta calidad a velocidades de impresión al menos tan altas como 25 cm/seg.
