Abstract

En una modalidad, un método comprende: transformar uno o más cuadros de una señal de audio de dominio de tiempo de dos canales en una representación de dominio de tiempo-frecuencia que incluye una pluralidad de mosaicos de tiempo-frecuencia, en donde el dominio de frecuencia de la representación de dominio de tiempo-frecuencia incluye una pluralidad de intervalos de frecuencia agrupados en subbandas. Para cada mosaico de tiempo-frecuencia, el método comprende: calcular parámetros espaciales y un nivel para el mosaico de tiempo-frecuencia; modificar los parámetros espaciales usando parámetros de desplazamiento y compresión; obtener un valor de máscara de fondo transparente para cada intervalo de frecuencia usando los parámetros espaciales modificados, el nivel y la información de subbanda; y aplicar los valores de máscara de fondo transparente al mosaico de tiempo-frecuencia para generar un mosaico de tiempofrecuencia modificado de una fuente de audio estimada. En una modalidad, una pluralidad de cuadros de los mosaicos de tiempo-frecuencia se ensamblan en una pluralidad de fragmentos, en donde cada fragmento incluye una pluralidad de subbandas, y el método descrito anteriormente se realiza en cada subbanda de cada fragmento.
