Abstract

La presente invención proporciona una composición que comprende: un polímero base; al menos un compuesto que tiene la estructura de la Fórmula I o II (Ver Formulas) en donde Ar es una porción o-, m- o p-fenileno, una porción fenileno substituido, o una porción naftaleno; R1 y R2 se eligen independientemente del grupo que consiste de: hidrógeno, alquilo, alquenilo, y arilo; X es O o -(CH2)n-; n = 0, 1 o 2; y p = 0, 1, o 2; y al menos un metal de transición en un estado de oxidación positivo, el metal está presente en la composición en una cantidad desde aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 400 ppm, en donde el compuesto está presente en una cantidad desde aproximadamente 0.10 a aproximadamente 10 por ciento en peso de la composición.
