Abstract
En una bomba de infusión operable para suministrar fluido a un paciente a una velocidad de flujo de la terapia programada, la detección de aire en la línea se mejora mediante el comando del mecanismo de bombeo para suministrar un volumen de bolo del fluido a una velocidad de flujo mayor que la velocidad de flujo de la terapia cuando se detecta un volumen ininterrumpido de aire que excede un primer umbral. En muchos casos, el bolo será eficaz para eliminar microburbujas de una zona de observación del sensor de aire en la línea para evitar una condición de alarma de aire en la línea.
