Abstract

Se divulga un sistema de propulsión de barco que comprende un motor de combustión interna para impulsar un barco, en donde el motor de combustión interna comprende una cámara de combustión para quemar combustible fósil, una línea de suministro para la entrega de una mezcla de gas a la cámara de combustión, una cámara de electrólisis para producir gas hidrógeno y gas oxígeno, y una bomba de vacío para succionar el gas hidrógeno y el gas oxígeno de la cámara de electrólisis; el sistema de propulsión de barco además comprende un tanque de gasificación con compuestos orgánicos volátiles ahí recibidos, en particular metanol o etanol, así como una línea de suministro para suministrar una mezcla de gas a la cámara de combustión, en donde la mezcla de gas comprende compuestos orgánicos gasificados del tanque de gasificación y al menos una parte del gas hidrógeno y el gas oxígeno; además, se divulga un método correspondiente para la operación de un sistema de propulsión de barco.
