Abstract
Un proceso para la extraccion de un metal a partir de un mineral o concentrado, comprende someter al mineral o concentrado a una oxidacion a presion en la presencia de oxígeno y de una solucion ácida que contiene iones de halogeno y una fuente de iones de bisulfato o sulfato, tales como H2SO4. Los metales que se pueden extraer mediante el proceso comprenden cobre, así como metales no cuprosos, tales como zinc, y metales preciosos, tales como oro y plata.
