Abstract
A 1,5-BENZOTHIAZEPINE DERIVATIVES OF THE FORMULA : WHERE AR IS PHCNYL SUBSTITUTED WITH A LOWER ALKOXY, R IS A LOWER ALKYL, R1 AND R ARE EACH A LOWER ALKYL, AND Y IS A LOWER ALKYLENE IS PREPARED BY REACTING A 1,5- BENZOTHIAZEPIN DERATIVES OF THE FORMULA (II), PREFERABLY AN ALKALI METAL SALT THCREOF ON THE NITROGEN ATOM AT 5-POSITION, WITH A COMPOUND OF THE FORMULA (III) AS SHOWN IN THE FOLLOWING REACTION SCHEME-I.WHERE AR, R, R1, R2 AND Y ARE AS DEFINED ABOVE, AND Z IS A HALOGEN.THE COMPOUND (I) OF THE INVENTION HAS EXCELLENT CORONARY VASODILATING AND PSYCHONEUROTIC ACTIVITIES AND IS USEFUL PARTICULARLY AS A CA2+ -ANTIGONISTIC CORONARY VASODILATOR.
