Abstract

THERE IS DISCLOSED A BAG HOLDING DEVICE COMPRISING A PLURALITY OF ARMS (1) LINKED TO FORM A CONTINUOUS HOOP BY PIVOT JOINTS (2), EACH ARM INCORPORATING A BAG GRIPPING DEVICE (14, 15). THE ARMS AND JOINTS CAN BE ARRANGED TO FORM A POLYGONAL SHAPE SO THAT A BAG ATTACHED TO IT IS OPENED AND A NARROW RECTANGLE SO THAT THE BAG IS CLOSED. THE PIVOT JOINTS (2) HAVE HINGED PINS (7) ADAPTED TO FIT ONTO AMOUNTING PLATE (9) WHICH CAN BE MOUNTED ONTO A CONVENIENT LOCATION. LOCKING DEVICES (11) ON THE MOUNTING PLATE BEAR AGAINST PIVOT JOINTS TO KEEP THE BAG HOLDING DEVICE FIRMLY IN ANY SELECTED POSITION BETWEEN FULLY CLOSED AND FULLY OPENED.(FIG. 2)
