A HEAT - INSULATING FRAME ASSEMBLY (FIRGURE 4) FOR USE IN A CURTAIN WALL CONSTRUCTION INCLUDES AN INNER FRAME MEMBER (30) AND AN OUTER FRAME MEMBER (31) WHICH ARE INTERCONNECTED BY A BOLT (80) WITH AN ATTACHMENT AND (52) A SPACER (32) INTERPOSED BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER FRAME MEMBERS (30), (31). THE SPACER (32) IS MADE OF A HEAT- INSULATING MATERIAL AND COMPOSED OF A PAIR OF SPACED SIDE WALLS (60),(61) INTERCONNECTED BY A CONNECTING WALL (62). A BLOCK (88) OF A HEAT- INSULATING MATERIAL IS INSERTED BETWEEN THE SIDE WALLS (60,) (61) OF THE SPACER (32). FOR ASSEMBLING THE HEAT- INSULATING FRAME ASSEMBLY., THE ATTACHMENT (52) IS POSITIONED ON AND FASTENED TO THE INNER FRAME MEMBER (30) AND THEN THE SPACER (32) IS POSITIONED ON AND FASTENED TO THE ATTACHMENT (52). THEREAFTER, THE OUTER FRAME MEMBER (31) IS SECURED TO THE INNER FRAME MEMBER (30) THROUGH THE ATTACHMENT (52) AND THE SPACER (32).(FIG. 4)
