Abstract
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO THE USE OF RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF PLANTS TO CONFER HERBICIDE TOLERANCE TO PLANTS. MORE SPECIFICALLY THE INVENTION CONCERNS THE CONSTRUCTION AND USE OF A RECOMBINANT DNA MOLECULE THAT INCLUDES A GLUTATHIONE S- TRANSFERASE (GST) GENE THAT UPON EXPRESSION IN A PLANT INCREASES THE LEVELS OF GST ENZYMATIC ACTIVITY IN THE PLANT.
