Abstract

A REEL HUB FOR A TAPE CASSETTE HAS INNER AND OUTER ANNULAR RIMS CONNECTED BY AN INTERMEDIATE, SPOKEN-LIKE PORTION IN WHICH A NUMBER OF BORES ARE FORMED TO ENABLE LIHT TO PASS THERETHROUGH. RADIALLY EXTENDING REINFORCING RIBS ARE PROVIDED BETWEEN THE BORES TO STRENGTHEN THE INTERMEDIATE PORTION AGAINST CRACKING OR WARPING. SOME OF THE REINFORCING RIBS HAVE ENLARGED PORTIONS ADAPTED TO BE ABUTTED BY KNOCK-OUT PINS FOR REMOVAL FROM A MOLD DURING A STANDARD MOLDING PROCESS.(FIG. 4)
