A CONTAINER TO HANDLE PARTICULATE SOLIDS COMPRISING A DOWNWARDLY CONVERGING WALL EXTENDING FROM AN INLET TO AN OUTLET, THE WALL BEING PROVIDED WITH AN INTERNAL INVERTED STEP EXTENDING ALONG A PORTION OF THE CONVERGING WALL.IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE THE SOLIDS COMPACTION AND FLOW STOPPPAGES, THE INTERNAL INVERTED STEP EXTENDS HELICALLY ALONG AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE CONVERGING WALL TO PROVIDE A CONTINOUS INCREASE IN THE CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF THE CONTAINER TO PROMOTE SOLIDS FLOW.
