Abstract

IN ORDER TO COMPOST WASTE MATTER, AN UPWARD AIR DRAFT IS BLOWN INTO A HORIZONTAL CHAMBER (40) WHICH MAY BE PLACED IN AN UNDERGROUND ROOM. WASTE MATTER IS FED INTO ONE END OF THE CHAMBER AND LEAVES THE OTHER END AFTER BEING COMPOSTED.DURING COMPOSTING PERIOD, WASTE MATTER IS TRANSPORTED AND MIXED INSIDE THE CHAMBER BY AN EXTERNALLY MOTOR-DRIVEN TWO-STAGE SCREW CONVEYOR.(FIG 1)
