WITH AN OPTICAL PLAYBACK DEVICE, FOR EXAMPLE, WITH A COMPACT DISK PLAYER, CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO SEE THAT THE LIGHT BEAM SCANNING THE DATA RADIATES AS PERPENDICULAR AS POSSIBLE ONTO THE DISK. HOWEVER, AS A CONSEQUENCE OF DISK SLAP OR CHATTERING, THE RADIAL AND THE TANGENTIAL ANGLES ALTER DURING EVERY REVOLUTION OF THE DISK. AS A RESULT OF THE TOLERANCES IN THE DISK AND THE DEVICE, THE OPTICAL AXIS DEVIATES FROM THE PERPENDICULAR IN MANY CASES. THESE DEVIATIONS ALTER DURING THE PLAYBACK OPERATION. AS COSTLY OPTICAL MEASURING FACILITY IS KNOWN FROM EP-PS 0 070 070 WHICH REGULATES THE RADIAL AND TANGENTIAL ANGLES WITH RESPECT TO A FIXED AXIS. IN ORDER TO REGULATE THE RADIAL ANGLE R AND THE TANGENTIAL ANGLE T, UNDER WHICH THE LIGHT BEAM STRIKES THE DISK, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE ON MEASURING TECHNOLOGY, THE DATA SIGNAL (HF) IS DEMODULATED IN AMPLITUDE DEMODULATOR (DM). THE REGULATING SIGNAL UR = C*SIN *COS FOR THE RADIAL ANGLE R AND THE REGULATING SIGNAL UT = -C*COS *SIN FOR THE TANGENTIAL ANGLE T ARE GENERATED FROM THE AMPLITUDE C AND THE PHASE POSITION OF THE DEMODULATED DATA SIGNAL (M).OPTICAL PLAYBACK DEVICES LIKE, FOR EXAMPLE, COMPACT DISK PLAYERS, VIDEO DISK PLAYERS, DRAW DISK PLAYERS OR MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING AND PLAYBACK DEVICES.(FIG. 6)
