Abstract

THE SPECIFICATION DESCRIBES A RETAINING MATERIAL FOR REMOVING ARSENIC AND/OR PHOSPHORUS FROM A PETROLEUM CHARGE AND A METHOD OF PREPARING IT. THE MATERIAL COMPRISES: A) FORM 60 TO 97% OF A CARRIER CONTAINING, BY WEIGHT, FROM 1.5 TO 60% OF OXIDE OF AT LEAST ONE METAL A SELECTED FORM THE GROUP FORMED BY MG, CA, SR, BA, MN, FE, CO, NI, CU AND ZN, DISSOLVED IN ALUMINA IN THE FORM OF ALUMINATE, AND FROM 40 TO 98.5% OF AT LEAST ONE ALUMINA, B) FROM 3 TO 40% OF NICKEL OXIDE, WITH WHICH THE CARRIER IS IMPREGNATED BY EXCHANGE OR DEPOSITING, AND C) POSSIBLY FROM 0 TO 1% OF PLATINUM AND/OR PALLADIUM OXIDE WITH WHICH THE CARRIER IS IMPREGNATED.
