Abstract
A LOWER FATTY ACID ESTER IS EFFICIENCTLY PREPARED BY A PROCESS COMPRISING REACTING A LOWER FATTY ACID WITH A LOWER OLEFIN IN THE PRESENCE OF A CATALYST COMPRISING A CARRIER AND AT LEAST ONE METAL SALT OF A HETEROPOLY-ACID, WHICH IS SUPPORTED ON THE CARRIER, SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF Li, Cu, Mg AND Ga SALTS OF HETEROPOLY-ACIDS, OR IN THE PRESENCE OF A CATALYST COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE COMPOUND SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF PHOSPHOTUNGSTOMOLYBDIC ACID AND SILICOTUNGSTOMOLYBDIC ACID, AND Cs, Rb, T1, AMMONIUM AND K SALTS OF THESE ACIDS.
