A NOVEL, SUBSTITUTED PYRIDINESULFONAMIDE COMPOUND HAVING A PYRIDINE RING WITH AN N-SUBSTITUTED AMINO-CARBONYL GROUP, 1 OR 2 Y GROUPS, AND A PARTICULAR SUBSTITUTED GROUP (IF ANY), AND A PYRIMIDINE RING WITH A SPECIFIC SUBSTITUTED GROUP AT THE 3-POSITION OF THE SULFONYL UREA CHAIN, WHERE Y REPRESENTS A HYDROGEN ATOM, A HALOGEN ATOM, AN ALKYL GROUP, AN ALKOXY GROUP, AN ALKYLTHIO GROUP, AN ALKOXYYALKYL GROUP, OR NON-SUBSTITUTED OR SUBSTITUTED AMINO GROUP. THE COMPOUND IS EFFECTIVE AS THE HERBICIDE FOR CORN FIELDS. FURTHER, THE SALTS OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED COMPOUND, HERBICIDAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE COMPOUND OR THESE SALTS, AND A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE ABOVE-IDENTIFIED COMPOUND, AND ALSO A METHOD OF PREPARING THE SALTS OF THE COMPOUND.
