A TAPE DECK PROVIDED WITH A HEAD BASE PLATE (3) ON WHICH SAID AUDIO CONTROL HEAD (15) IS INSTALLED, SUPPORTED AT A BASE END (5) OF SAID PLATE (3) BY A VERTICAL COLUMN (14) FIXED ON A CHASSIS (13) THROUGH A HEIGHT-ADJUSTING NUT (11) AND AN UPWARDLY ENERGIZING SPRING (12), THE TIP END (6) OF SAID PLATE (3) SUSTAINED ON A TAPERED PERIPHERAL SURFACE (19) OF A TAPERED CYLINDRICAL DISC FIXED ON SAID CHASSIS, CHARACTERISED IN THAT SAID HEAD BASE PLATE (3) COMPRISES: A HOLE (8) ON SAID BENT PORTION (7) THEREOF RECEIVING SAID VERTICAL COLUMN (14) BEING SHAPED SQUARE-SHAPED, AND SAID BENT PORTION (7) THEREOF SLANTED DOWNWARDLY.(FIG.1)
