A METHOD OF CONVERTING LONG-FIBRE RAW MATERIALS INTO AN INTERMEDIATE SUITABLE FOR PRODUCTION OF WOODBASE BOARDS. THE LON9-FIBRE RAW MATERIALS ARE SUPPLIED TO AN EDGE RUNNER AND EXTRUSION PRESS COMPR1SING AN EDGE RUNNER AND A PLATEN FORMED WITH A NUMBER OF EXTRUSION DUCTS. THE LONG FIBRE IN THE LONG-FIBRE RAW MATERIALS ARE SHORTENED IN THE EDGE RUNNER AND EXTRUSION PRESS BY SHEAR1NG STRESSES AT AND IN THE EXTRUSION DUCTS AND ARE CONVERTED INTO PRESSED BLANKS CORRESPONDING TO THE CROSS-SECTION OF THE EXTRUSION DUCTS. THE BLANKS ARE IN THE FORM OF BULK MATERIAL AND CONSTITUTE THE INTERMEDIATE.
