Abstract

A WATER-DISPERSIBLE HERBICIDE EMULSION COMPOSITION WHICH CONTAINS AS THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT A WATER-INSOLUBLE HERBICIDE, SUCH AS FLUROXYPYR 1-METHYL-HEPTYL ESTER, COMBINED WITH A WATER-SOUBLE SALT OF N-PHOSPHONOMETHYLGLYCINE, FOR EXAMPLE THE ISOPRUPYLAMINE SALT. THE COMPOSITION IS FORMULATED AS A STABLE MICRO-EMULSION BY THE CHOICE OF SPECIFIC SURFACTANTS, NAMELY AT LEAST ONE AMINE ETHOXYLATE CONTAINING 2 MOLES OF ETHYLENE OXIDE; AT LEAST ONE COCAMINE ETHOXYLATE SURFACTANT CONTAINING FROM 10 TO 20 MOLES OF ETHYLENE OXIDE; AND AT LEAST ONE CO-SURFACTANT WHICH IS A GLYCOL ETHER, A C4-C12 ALIPHATIC ALCOHOL, AN ALCOHOL ETHER BASED ON ETHYLENE, PROPYLENE OR BUTYLENE OXIDE, OR A NONIONIC SURFACTANT WITH AN HLB VALUE OF LESS THAN 10.
