Abstract

A HYDROISOMERIZATION PROCESS FOR THE CONVERSION OF A C5+PARAFFINIC FEEDSTOCK, ESPECIALLY A FISCHER- TROPSCH WAX, AND HYDROGEN, TO MIDDLE DISTILLATES BY CONTACT THEREOF AT HYDROISOMERIZATION REACTION CONDITIONS WITH A CATALYST COMPRISED OF A GROUP IB METAL, A GROUP VIB METAL, A GROUP VLLI METAL, OR MIXTURE OF TWO OR MORE OF SAID METALS, SUPPORTED ON SILICA-ALUMINA SLURRIED IN A PARAFFINIC LIQUID. THE CATALYST PARTICLES ARE CONTAINED IN THE SLURRY IN CONCENTRATION GREATER THAN ABOUT 10 WT. , PREFERABLY GREATER THAN ABOUT 25 WT. , AND THE AVERAGE DIAMETER OF THE PARTICLES RANGE FROM ABOUT 30 MICRONS TO ABOUT 150 MICRONS, PREFERABLY FROM ABOUT 40 MICRONS TO ABOUT 60 MICRONS.
