Abstract

A SWITCHING MECHANISM FOR A GAS INSULATED SWITCH GEAR UNIT WHICH IS CAPABLE OF SELECTIVELY OPERATING A DISCONNECTING SWITCH AND A GROUND SWITCH BY USING ONLY ONE MOVABLE CONTACT UNIT. THE UNIT INCLUDES A CONDUCTIVE ROD DISPOSED VERTICALLY IN A TANK, A CENTRAL FIXED CONTACT UNIT DISPOSED ON AN UPPER END PORTION OF THE CONDUCTIVE ROD, A MOVABLE CONTACT UNIT MOVABLE HORIZONTALLY IN THE CENTRAL FIXED CONTACT UNIT, AN OPERATING LEVER FOR HORIZONTALLY MOVING THE MOVABLE CONTACT UNIT, AND LEFT AND RIGHT FIXED CONTACT UNITS SYMMETRICALLYDISPOSED AT BOTH SIDES OF THE CENTRAL FIXED CONTACT UNIT SO THAT THE MOVABLE CONTACT UNIT WHEN HORIZONTALLY MOVED BY THE OPERATING LEVER CAN BE SELECTIVELY CONTACTED THEREWITH.
