DISCLOSED ARE A METHOD AND AN APPARATUS FOR TREATING STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENTS. THE METHOD COMPRISES THE STEPS OF: SUPPLYING AT A LOCATION OF SUPPLY THE STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENTS TO SUSPENDING MECHANISMS SECURED TO AN ENDLESS BELT OR CHAIN; TREATING THE STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENTS IN A TREATMENT BATH WHILE FEEDING THE STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENTS BY DRIVING THE STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENTS FROM THE SUSPENDING MECHANISMS; AND RETURNING THE SUSPENDING MECHANISMS WHICH ARE EMPTIED, TO THE LOCATION OF SUPPLY; WHEREIN, IN THE SUPPLYING STEP, AS TWO ADJOINING SUSPENDING MECHANISMS ARE DIVERGED FROM EACH OTHER, EACH STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENT IS SUPPLIED THROUGH A GAP DEFINED BETWEEN THE TWO ADJOINING SUSPENDING MECHANISMS; IN THE TREATING STEP, AS THE TWO ADJOINING SUSPENDING MECHANISMS ARE NOT DIVERGED FROM EACH OTHER, BUT PARTLY OVERLAPPED WITH EACH OTHER, EACH STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENT IS MAINTAINED INA STATE THAT IT IS ACCOMMODATED IN EACH SUSPENDING MECHANISMS WHILE BEING FED IN THE TREATMENT BETH; AND IN THE DISCHARGING STEP, AS THE TWO ADJOINING SUSPENDING MECHANISMS ARE DIVERGED AGAIN FROM EACH OTHER, EACH STRIP-SHAPED ELEMENT IS DISCHARGED THROUGH A GAP DEFINED BETWEEN THE TWO ADJOINING SUSPENDING MECHANISMS.
