Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES A DISPOSABLE DIAPER HAVING A FULLY ELASTICIZED WAIST OPENING WITH AN IMPROVED FIT OF THE DIAPER ON THE WAIST. A DISPOSABLE PULL-ON DIAPER HAVING A WAIST OPENING(13) AND LEG OPENINGS(14), INCLUDES AN ABSORBENT CHASSIS(20) AND ELASTIC PANELS (30)WHICH HAVE A WAIST OPENING EDGE (16) AND AN OPPOSING LEG OPENING. THE ELASTIC PANEL IS ATTACHED TO A WEARER-FACING SURFACE OF EACH HALF OF THE CHASSIS ALONG ATTACHMENT LINES WHICH COMPRISE A FRONT ATTACHMENT LINE (21A, 21B) CONNECTING A CENTER OF A FRONT EDGE OF THE CHASSIS TO A POINT ON EACH SIDE OF THE CHASSIS AND A BACK ATTACHMENT LINE (22A, 22B) CONNECTING A CENTER OF A BACK OF THE CHASSIS TO A POINT ON EACH SIDE OF THE CHASSIS. THE ELASTIC PANEL IS ATTACHED TO THE CHASSIS IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THE WAIST OPENING EDGE OF EACH ELASTIC PANEL EXTENDING AT LEAST TO A LONGITUDINAL CENTERLINE OF THE CHASSIS. THE ELASTIC PANELS OF THE DIAPER FORM COMPLETELY THE WAIST OPENING.
