A NEEDLE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY (12) FOR A SYRINGE (12) COMPRISING A BODY HAVING A LONGITUDINAL PASSAGE (18), A HOLLOW NEEDLE (19) SUPPORTED WITHIN THE PASSAGE (18), A HANDLE MEMBER (21) MOUNTED TO ONE END OF THE NEEDLE (19), THE OTHER END (22) OF THE NEEDLE (19) BEING PROVIDED WITH A FIRST OPENING, A PASSAGEWAY (17) PROVIDED THROUGH THE WALL OF THE PASSAGE (18) TOWARDS ONE END (23) OF THE PASSAGE, SAID PASSAGEWAY (17) BEING INTENDED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE CHAMBER OF THE SYRINGE (12), SAID NEEDLE (19) BEING MOVABLE BETWEEN A FIRST POSITION AT WHICH IT IS FULLY ACCOMMODATED WITHIN THE PASSAGE (18) AND A SECOND POSITION AT WHICH THE ONE END OF THE NEEDLE (19) EXTENDS FROM THE ONE END (23) OF THE PASSAGE (18), A SECOND OPENING (27) IN THE WALL OF THE NEEDLE (19) POSITIONED SUCH THAT WHEN THE NEEDLE (19) IS IN ITS SECOND POSITION THE SECOND OPENING (27) WILL COMMUNICATE WITH THE PASSAGEWAY (17), A FIRST SEAL (25) PROVIDED BETWEEN THE PASSAGE (18) AND THE NEEDLE (19) WHICH WILL SEALINGLY ISOLATE THE PASSAGEWAY (17), A SECOND SEAL (28) PROVIDED WHICH WILL ENGAGE THE SECOND OPENING (27) WHEN THE NEEDLE (19) IS IN THE FIRST POSITION AND ON MOVEMENT OF THE NEEDLE (19) TO THE FIRST POSITION IS PERMANENTLY SEALINGLY DISENGAGED FROM THE SECOND OPENING (27).
