Abstract
A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A FABRIC SOFTENER COMPOSITION WHICH COMPRISES ADDING TO THE SYSTEM COMPOSED OF AN OIL PHASE CONTAINING A CATIONIC SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT AND A FIRST AQUEOUS PHASE AN ACID COMPOUND SO AS TO ADJUST THE PH OF THE SOFTENER COMPOSITIONS SUCH THAT SAID CATIONIC SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT IS STABLE TO HYDROLYSIS, MIXING THE SYSTEM, THEREBY FORMING A LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION, ADDING TO SAID LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION A SECOND AQUEOUS PHASE, AND MIXING THE SYSTEM, THEREBY DISPERSING VESICLES (HAVING A BIMOLECULAR MULTILAYER STRUCTURE) OF SAID CATIONIC SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT INTO THE AQUEOUS LIQUID COMPOSED OF SAID FIRST AND SECOND AQUEOUS MEDIA AND ACID COMPOUND. THE CATIONIC SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT IS ONE WHICH HAS AT LEAST EITHER OF LONG ALKYL GROUP AND ALKENYL GROUP HAVING AN ESTER GROUP AND/OR AMIDE GROUP INTERPOSED THEREIN. THE SOFTENER COMPOSITION IS SUPERIOR IN BIODEGRADABILITY AND STABILITY TO STORAGE AND SEPARATION, AND IS USEFUL WHEN USED IN THE CONCENTRATED FORM.
