Abstract

A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A LOWER ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID ESTER BY A GAS PHASE ESTERIFICATION REACTION STARTING FROM A LOWER ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID AND A LOWER OLEFIN, COMPRISING ADDING A LOWER ALCOHOL CORRESPONDING TO A HYDRATE OF A LOWER OLEFIN TO THE GAS PHASE REACTION PRODUCT, CONDENSING A LOWER ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID ESTER TO PROCEED, SEPARATING THE LOWER ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID ESTER. PRODUCTIVITY IS INCREASED DUE TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONVERSION OF A LOWER ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACID.(FIG.3)
