THE INVENTION PROVIDES A ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE (10) OF THE KIND INCLUDING A GENERALLY ANNULAR STATOR (12), A GENERALLY ANNULAR BRUSH HOLDER (28) DISPOSED AT ONE OF THE AXIAL ENDS (18) OF THE STATOR (12), A ROTOR PASSING THROUGH THE BRUSH HOLDER AND HAVING A SHAFT FITTING WITH A COMMUTATOR, BRUSHES (96) COOPERATING WITH THE COMMUTATOR, AND A PROTECTIVE COVER (30) FIXED TO THE SAID AXIAL END (18) OF THE STATOR (12), IN WHICH THE BODY (70) OF THE BRUSH HOLDER (28) IS MOUNTED SO AS TO BE CLAMPED AXIALLY BETWEEN THE SAID AXIAL END (18, 22) OF THE STATOR (12) AND AN INNER RADICAL FACE (76, 144) OF THE CLOSURE COVER (30).(FIG 1)
