Abstract

IT IS KNOWN THAT SODIUM PERCARBONATE IS COATED WITH STABILISING COMPONENTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING ITS STORAGE STABILITY. THERE IS A NEED FOR IMPROVED, BORON-FREE, COATED SODIUM PERCARBONATE.COATING SODIUM PERCARBONATE PARTICLES ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION CONTAIN, IN THE CAOTING, SODIUM CARBONATE AND ALSO ONE OR MORE MAGNESIUM COMPOUNDS, PREFERABLY MAGNESIUM SULPHATE, OPTIONALLY IN A PARTIALLY HYDRATED FORM, IN A SINGLE LAYER OR IN SEPARATE LAYERS IN THE COATING. PREFERRED COATED SODIUM PERCARBONATE PARTICLES CONTAIN TWO LAYERS.PARTICLES ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION ARE PREPARED BY SPRYING AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS CONTAINING THE COATING COMPONENTS ONTO SODIUM PERCARBONATE IN A FLUIDISED BED WITH SIMULTANEOUS EVAPORATION OF THE WATER.DUE TO THEIR HIGH STORAGE STABILITY, THE PARTICLES ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION ARE SUITABLE FOR USE IN DETERGENTS, BLEACHES AND CLEANSING AGENTS.
