A METHOD FOR EXPANDING AN EXPANDABLE STEEL TUBULAR (1) COMPRISES THE STEPS OF - FLATTENING THE UNEXPANDED TUBULAR (1); - TRANSPORTING THE FLATTENED UNEXPANDED TUBULAR (1) TO A LOCATION AT OR NEAR THE SITE WHERE THE TUBULAR (1) IS TO BE INSTALLED;- UNFLATTENING THE TUBULAR (1) BEFORE POSITIONING THE TUBULAR (1) AT SAID SITE; AND - EXPANDING THE TUBULAR (1) ALONG AT LEAST A SUBSTANTIAL PART OF ITS LENGTH BEFORE OR AFTER THE TUBULAR (1) HAS BEEN POSITIONED AT SAID SITE.(FIG 1)
