Abstract

THE BRISTLE PART (2), CONNECTED TO A HANDLE, OF THE TOOTHBRUSH HAS TWO BRUSH HEADS (4, 5) WHICH ARE ARRANGED ONE BEHIND THE OTHER IN THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION OF THE TOOTHBRUSH. EACH BRUSH HEAD HAS A BRISTLE CARRIER (6) WITH BRISTLES PROJECTING THEREFROM. THE TWO BRUSH HEADS (4, 5) ARE ANGLED WITH RESPECT TO ONE ANOTHER AROUND AN AXIS RUNNING TRANSVERSELY WITH RESPECT TO THE LONGITUDINAL AXIS OFTHE TOOTHBRUSH, THE TWO BRUSHING SURFACES (8) BEING INCLINED TOWARD ONE ANOTHER. THIS ANGLING OF THE TWO BRUSH HEADS (4, 5) ACHIEVES GOOD ADAPTATION TO THE CURVED PROGRESSION OF THE TEETH AS A WHOLE.FURTHERMORE, IT IS EASIER TO REACH THE SPACES BETWEEN THE TEETH AND THE GUM MARGIN. TWO BRUSH HEADS (4, 5) ARRANGED ONE BEHIND THE OTHER PROVIDE AN OVERALL BRUSHING SURFACE WHICH IS COMPARABLE WITH THE BRUSH SURFACE OF CONVENTIONAL TOOTH BRUSHES WITH ONE BRUSH HEAD WHICH BEARS AN ARRANGEMENT OF BRISTLES WHICH IS RECTANGULAR IN PLAN VIEW.(FIG. 3)
