Abstract

CHEMICALLY STABLE, INSECTICIDALLY ACTIVE PELLETS HAVING A LOW MOISTURE CONTENT AND AT LEAST ABOUT 95% ACTIVE INGREDIENT ARE DESCRIBED, AS WELL AS A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEM. THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT IS SELECTED FROM A CLASS OF N-HYDROCARBOYL PHOSPHOROAMIDOTHIOATE AND PHOSPHOROAMIDODITHIOATE COMPOUNDS AS DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIFICATION. THE PELLETS GENERALLY HAVE A MOISTURE CONTENT OF ABOUT 0.5% BY WEIGHT OR LESS, PREFERABLY LESS THAN ABOUT 0.3% BY WEIGHT. THE PELLETS CAN BE PRODUCED BY ONE OF TWO TYPES OF PROCESSES AS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL, INCLUDING A HIGH PRESSURE AXIAL EXTRUSION PROCESS AND A LOW PRESSURE BASKET EXTRUSION PROCESS.(FIG.1)
