Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION, WITH RESPECT TO A FUEL OIL COMPRISING DIMETHYL ETHER AS A PRINCIPAL COMPONENT OF THE FUEL OIL, BY MAINTAINING A LUBRICITY THEREOF TO A HIGH EXTENT, MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO COMMERCIALLY USE DIMETHYL ETHER AS A FUEL OIL AND PROVIDES A FUEL OIL, A LUBRICANT FOR A FUEL OIL AND A FUEL OIL PRODUCTION FACILITY WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO A LARGE EXTENT. THE FUEL OIL OF THE PRESENT INVENTION COMPRISES DIMETHYL ETHER AND AT LEAST ONE SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF VEGETABLE FATS AND OILS, AND VEGETABLE FAT AND OIL DERIVATIVES. THE VEGETABLE FAT AND OIL WHICH CAN BE USED INCLUDES COCONUT OIL AND PALM OIL, AND THE VEGETABLE FAT AND OIL DERIVATIVE INCLUDES, FOR EXAMPLE, MONO- TO POLYHYDRIC ALCOHOL ESTERS OF FATTY ACIDS CONSTITUTING THE RESPECTIVE VEGETABLE FAT AND OIL DERIVATIVES DESCRIBED ABOVE, ALKYLENE OXIDE ADDUCTS THEREOF AND ALKYLENE OXIDE ADDUCTS OF THE CONSTITUTING FATTY ACIDS. ALSO, THE LUBRICANT FOR THE FUEL OIL OF THE PRESENT INVENTION COMPRISING DIMETHYL ETHER AS A PRINCIPAL COMPONENT COMPRISES AT LEAST ONE SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF THE VEGETABLE FATS AND OILS, AND THE VEGETABLE FAT AND OIL DERIVATIVES EACH DESCRIBED ABOVE.
