Abstract
THIS INVENTION PROVIDES A SYNTHESIS OF OLEOCHEMICALS WITH MULTI-FUNCTIONAL GROUPS, THE OLEOCHEMICALS AND THEIR USES AS A COUPLING AGENTS IN POLYMER INDUSTRY, ESPECIALLY PLASTIC SUCH AS POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC). THE SYNTHESIS INVOLVES A THREE-STEP PROCESS WHICH IS SUBJECTED TO A NUMBER OF CONDITIONS. THE OLEOCHEMICALS CAN BE ALKYL DIISOPROPYL DIPHOSPHATES (ADDP) WHICH IS AN ESTER WHICH CONTAIN A HYDROXY GROUP AND ALKOXY GROUPS OF DIFFERENT NUMBER OF CARBONS. THE OLEOCHEMICALS CAN BE UTILISED TO MODIFY THE SURFACE OF FILLERS SUCH AS CALCIUM CARBONATE (CaCO3) PRIOR TO THE FORMULATING OF THE POLYMER.
