Abstract
A MEMOD AND A DEVICE IN CONNEMON WITH HANDLING OOVERS IN A SUPERSIRUCIURE IN AN ELEMOLYRIC CELL THE PRESENT INVENTION CONCERNS A METHOD AND DEVICE IN CONNECTION WITH AN ELECTROLYTIC 5 CELL OF THE HALL-1-16ROULT TYPE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALUMINIUM. THE METHOD RELATES TO THE HANDLING OF COVERS IN A SUPERSTRUCTURE IN AN ELECTROLYTIC CELL, WHEREBY THE CELL COMPRISES ONE OR MORE REMOVABLE COVERS MOUNTED SIDE BY SIDE. SUCH COVERS ARE REMOVED IN CONNECTION WITH OPERATIONS ON THE CELL AND ARE PUT BACK INTO POSITION WHEN THE OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. IN CONNECTION WITH THE METHOD IN ACCORDANCE 10 WITH THE PRESENT INVENTION, THE COVERS ARE REMOVED BY THE TOTAL SIDEWAYS EXTENT OF THE COVERS BEING REDUCED BY THE COVERS BEING MOVED TOGETHER SIDEWAYS BEFORE THEY ARE LIFTED OFF. THE DEVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO COVERING THE ELECTROLYTIC CELL, WHEREBY AT LEAST ONE COVER IS DESIGNED WITH AT LEAST ONE SIDE EDGE THAT OVERLAPS AN ADJACENT FIXED OR MOVABLE COVER AND IS MOUNTED WITH A MUTUAL 15 SIDEWAYS CLEARANCE FROM THE FIXED OR MOVABLE COVER STATED TO ALLOW A CERTAIN MUTUAL SIDEWAYS MOVEMENT BETWEEN THE COVERS.
