Abstract
THE INVENTION PROVIDES A COST-EFFECTIVE METHOD FOR APPLYING A HYDROPHILIC COATING ONTO A SILICONE HYDROGEL CONTACT LENS BASED ON FENTON CHEMISTRY. THE HYDROPHILIC COATING IS COVALENTLY ATTACHED ONTO THE CONTACT LENS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE WITHOUT UV IRRADIATION. THE INVENTION ALSO PROVIDES A SILICONE HYDROGEL CONTACT LENSES HAVING A HYDROPHILIC COATING OBTAINED ACCORDING TO THE METHOD OF THE INVENTION.
