Abstract
THE INVENTION REFERS TO A MILLING METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY PROCESSING A CUBOID-SHAPED WORKPIECE (16), WHEREIN A CUBOID-SHAPED BLANK BEING PROVIDED WITH AN OVERSIZE ON ALL SIX SIDES IS CLAMPED AT TWO OPPOSITE SIDES, WHEREIN THE CLAMPING OCCURS BY MEANS OF TWO OPPOSITE CLAMPING DEVICES (6, 7) WHICH ARE MOVABLE WITH RESPECT TO EACH OTHER IN A MOVEMENT AXIS (8), WHEREIN A CLAMPING FORCE IS APPLIED BY THE TWO CLAMPING DEVICES (6, 7) TRANSVERSELY TO THE MOVEMENT AXIS (8) AND WHEREIN NO CLAMPING FORCE IS APPLIED ON THE WORKPIECE (16) IN THE DIRECTION OF THE MOVEMENT AXIS (8), WHEREIN SUBSEQUENTLY AT LEAST TWO OF THE FOUR EXPOSED SIDES OF THE WORKPIECE (16) ARE FINISHED, WHEREIN SUBSEQUENTLY THE WORKPIECE (16) IS REMOVED FROM THE CLAMPING DEVICES (6, 7) AND IS CLAMPED BY THE CLAMPING DEVICES (6, 7) AT THE TWO PROCESSED SIDES AND THE UNPROCESSED SIDES ARE FINISHED.
