Abstract

A LOW THRESHOLD FLASHLAMP-PUMPED ND:YAG LASER IS PRODUCED BY CONFIGURING A LASER RESONATOR AND BY USING A PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLLED FLASHLAMP PUMPING GAIN MEDIUM. THE FLASHLAMP-PUMPED ND:YAG LASER COMPRISING OF A HE-NE LASER (16), A LASER RESONATOR HAVING A REAR MIRROR (12) AND AN OUTPUT COUPLER (14), AN OSCILLATOR CHAMBER (18) HAVING A ND:YAG ROD (11) AND A FLASHLAMP (13), A COOLING SYSTEM (20) AND A FLASHLAMP DRIVER (30). THE FLASHLAMP DRIVER (30) COMPRISING OF AN IGNITION CIRCUIT (32), A SIMMER POWER SUPPLY (34), A CAPACITOR CHARGER POWER SUPPLY (36), A PULSE FORMING NETWORK (38) AND AN EXTERNAL CONTROLLER (40).
