Abstract

An absorbent article (10), comprising: a topsheet (1) placed on the skin-contacting surface side; a backsheet (2) placed on the skin-noncontacting surface side; and an absorbent body (3) provided between these sheets, wherein the absorbent article (10) has an oblong shape with a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis crossing the longitudinal axis, wherein the absorbent article (10) has a leak preventive groove formed by integrally compressing the topsheet (1) and the absorbent body, and wherein the absorbent body (3) contains an absorbent polymer, the absorbent polymer content in the absorbent body (3) being increased along the direction toward the skin-noncontacting surface side in the lower layer area of the absorbent body (3)for the thickness direction of the absorbent body, the content being arranged higher at the central area than that at the tail area for the transverse direction of the lower layer area, the arrangement being formed from the longitudinal front to the rear of the absorbent body.
