THE FORMALDEHYDE SCAVENGER OF THE PRESENT INVENTION COMPRISES ETHYLENE UREA OR A DERIVATIVE THEREOF AND AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE IN A WEIGHT RATIO OF ETHYLENE UREA OR A DERIVATIVE THEREOF/AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE IN THE RANGE OF 9.5/0.5 TO 0.3/9.7. THE AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE IS SELECTED FROM AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE MONOBASIC, AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE DIBASIC AND A MIXTURE OF AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE MONOBASIC AND AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE DIBASIC. PREFERABLY, THE FORMALDEHYDE SCAVENGER FURTHER COMPRISES UREA.
