Abstract

AN OBJECT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION IS TO PROVIDE A CIRCULATING FLUIDIZED BED BOILER (1) CAPABLE OF DETECTING POOR CIRCULATION OF CIRCULATION MATERIALS AT AN EARLY STAGE AND A METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME. A CIRCULATING FLUIDIZED BED BOILER (1) INCLUDES A COMBUSTION FURNACE (3) THAT BURNS FUEL, A CYCLONE (7) THAT SEPARATES CIRCULATION MATERIALS, WHICH ARE SOLID PARTICLES, FROM COMBUSTION GAS GENERATED AT THE COMBUSTION FURNACE (3), A DOWNCOMER (9) THAT SENDS THE CIRCULATION MATERIALS DOWNWARD, WHICH IS SEPARATED BY THE CYCLONE (7), A LOOP SEAL UNIT (11) THAT PREVENTS THE COMBUSTION GAS FROM FLOWING BACKWARD FROM THE COMBUSTION FURNACE (3) TO THE DOWNCOMER (9) BY SEALING A CIRCULATION FLOW PATH (50) OF THE CIRCULATION MATERIALS WITH THE CIRCULATION MATERIALS SENT FROM THE DOWNCOMER (9), PRESSURE SENSORS (31) AND (33) THAT ACQUIRES A DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE BETWEEN A PRESSURE OF THE DOWNCOMER (9) AND A PRESSURE OF THE LOWER PART OF THE LOOP SEAL, AND A CONTROL COMPUTER (35) THAT DETERMINES WHETHER THERE IS AN OCCURRENCE OF POOR CIRCULATION OF THE CIRCULATION MATERIALS BASED ON INFORMATION ON THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE. THE CONTROL COMPUTER (35) DETERMINES WHETHER THERE IS AN OCCURRENCE OF POOR CIRCULATION BASED ON THE STANDARD DEVIATION OF THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE.
