Abstract
A PALM-BASED OIL COMPOSTION WHICH IS ABLE TO ACHIEVE COLD STABILITY OF MINIMUM 5.5 HOURS COMPRISING ESSENTIALLY MIXTURE OF 4 – 12 % WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING PALMITIC-PALMITIC-OLEIC ACID, 10 – 18 % WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING PALMITIC-OLEIC-LENOLEIC ACIDS, 3 – 9% WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING PALMITIC-PALMITIC-LINOLEIC ACIDS, 3 – 17 % WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING OLEIC-OLEIC-OLEIC ACIDS, 3 - 12 % WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING PALMITIC-LINOLEIC-LINOLEIC ACIDS, 1 – 18 % WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING LINOLEIC-LINOLEIC-LINOLEIC ACIDS, 15 – 23% WT TRIACYLGLYCEROL CONTAINING PALMITIC-OLEIC-OLEIC ACIDS. THE POSITION OF THE FATTY ACIDS IN THE TRIACYLGLYCEROL IS NOT SPECIFIC. THE PALM-BASED OIL COMPOSITION FURTHER COMPRISES 16 - 26 % OF PALMITIC, 25 – 58 % OF OLEIC, 13 – 48 % OF LINOLEIC AND LESS THAN 5 % OF LINOLENIC. THE PRESENT INVENTION FURTHER RELATES TO A PROCESS TO PRODUCING SUCH PALM-BASED OIL COMPOSITION BY STEPS OF MIXING ONE OR MORE PALM BASED OIL WITH ONE OR MORE UNSATURATED OIL TO OBTAIN A STARTING OIL MIXTURE, FRACTIONATION OF THE STARTING OIL MIXTURE AND SEPARATION OF THE STARTING OIL MIXTURE TO OBTAIN SUCH PALM-BASED OIL COMPOSITION. IN ANOTHER ASPECT OF THE PRESENT INVENTION, THE PALM-BASED OIL COMPOSITION MAY HAVE THE OMEGA-6 (N-6) TO OMEGA-3 (N-3) RATIO OF 12 TO 1 OR LOWER, WHICH IS PREFERABLY 5-9 TO 1, IN WHICH THE OIL IS GOOD FOR HEALTH.
